Based on a sample that represented more than half (54%) of the region's accommodation capacity, over half (52%) of the total tourist demand (measured by overnight stays), and over one-third (34%) of the region's employment, this study reveals that the tourism and hospitality sector may require a 45% increase in human resources. However, a more practical approach would be to aim for a 25% growth to ensure the continued operation of the industry. Recruitment challenges are noticeable, particularly in operational domains like food and beverages, accommodation, and maintenance. Nevertheless, there has been an improvement in working conditions in the tourism and hospitality industry over time, particularly concerning job stability and wages. Despite that, the prospects for the future indicate moderate optimism, which is pervasive across all areas and factors.
